Rev. Dr. Alex Korulla, born in a Syrian Christian Orthodox family in Kerala is married to Reny Alex, also a staff at Indian Institute of Theology and Mission, and blessed with three boys Blessen, Bensen and Benjamin.
While working in the Indian Air force, the call from the Lord Almighty in his life was irresistible and thus quit his job to enter into full-time ministry. He studied Bachelor of Religious Education (BRE )at Berean Baptist Bible College, Bangalore. He did his Chaplaincy Training from Taylor University, Indiana, USA and completed advanced studies in Christian Communication from FUCCA, Los Angels, California, USA. He received his Doctor of Divinity from the Canadian Graduate School of Theology (CANGRAD).
His strong leadership skills made him to be the Vice-President of the Baptist Youth Fellowship India (BYFI) continuously for 5 consecutive terms. He is also one of the founding members of BYFI. Work among the young people has made him to be the leader who has motivated many people to enter into the Ministry of the Gospel.
His passion for lost souls has motivated him to travel extensively to the un-reached villages in India. This has enabled him to be an active Church planter, presently mentoring 125 pastors in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and 4 pastors in Madhya Pradesh. He is the Founder of Agape Leprosy Ministries India (ALMI). ALMI is mainly focused to share Gospel to the lepers and also to rehabilitate them and their families. To take care of the children from the leprosy background, he has established the Agape Children’s Home in Bangalore. Through the Agape Children’s Home, 59 children have been blessed to be rehabilitated.
After careful observation and seeing the urgency of the Gospel to the un-reached and untouchables in India, he started the Indian Institute of Theology and Mission to train up young people to go and preach the Word of God.
Currently, he is teaching Homiletics and Hermeneutics at IITM. He travels to various countries also to preach the Good News.
